So, here is more information for you to look over. Please pass it
along to those quality candidates. Ideally, we'd love to get someone
in here by the first of August, but we can be flexible for the right
person.

As of August 1st, there's an opening in our awesome house! We have
20' high ceilings in the living room and the workshop, and here's all
the details:

The house:
2800 sq ft converted warehouse space located in East Oakland. Yes,
that's a LOT of space. And as a bonus the living room has a 20' high
ceiling. Also in the living room is a DJ rig, a tiki bar, a dance
pole and a 15' projection system for that in-home movie theater feel.

Downstairs also includes jovino's bedroom and the sewing studio.

The studio:
M and jovino run bunnywarez (http://bunnywarez.com/) out of this
mixed-use residence. In the back-end of the bottom floor there is a
sewing studio with a large cutting table and industrial sewing
machines. The adjacent rooms have fabric storage and our inventory of
furry goodies. If you're interested in learning how to sew, we got
the goods to spoil you right.

Usptairs:
The mezzanine level houses the rest of the space with M's bedroom,
your bedroom, our kitchen with gas stove and many tools and
appliances, a dining area, the bathroom with a tub/shower and a
washer & dryer. Yesh, clean laundry and no coin op for us!

Your bedroom is just off the kitchen. It's a quirky "L" shape which
creates a nice bed nook, and has a window, an opening skylight which
gets great breezes and even an AC unit to help cool things off on the
hot days. Arlette painted the room a nice deep red, but if you want
another color then it's all yours. She also added some additional
sound-proofing so you're sure to get a good night's rest even when
people are hanging out down in the living room. We should mention
that while our place is great for parties, we rarely throw big ones.
Once a year we do have a joint birthday party that goes pretty late,
but for the most part we're more into small gatherings and movie nights.

The shop space:
The workshop has a pretty good set of tools like a drill press, a
(small) bandsaw and a welder. We also have a decent assortment of
hand tools and ample room for projects. There is also a set of large
double-doors to help facilitate moving those larger projects in and out.

Storage:
Inside the shop, there's a loft space with shelves to hold those
things that you don't use all that often. We also have a bunch of
hooks high up to hang bicycles. Mostly it's for the playa bikes, but
it's a neat system to keep the clutter down.

Parking:
We have the fortune of being on the end of the parking lot which
means we have space for two cars inside the secure, gated parking
lot. With careful arrangements it's even possible to squeeze another
car in there. If not, there's always ample street parking in the
neighborhood.

The neighborhood:
Speaking of the 'hood, it's really quite mellow over here. The
majority of the area is mixed use and residential. BART is a mere 5
blocks away and 5 more blocks will get you to a shopping center with
a decent grocery store. In the other direction is a dizzying array of
artist residences similar to ours. Traveling west about 6 blocks will
get you into Alameda where you'll find a plethora of great
restaurants including the amazing late-night eatery La Piñata 3 as
well as specialty shops, a Trader Joe's, natural market, 24-hour
Safeway, etc.

Pets:
Presently, two kitties live with us. Bruce and Ninjai are sisters and
are about two years old. They are well behaved and have great
personalities. Since we love to spoil the cats, we built in a number
of cat-runs around the house. It's always fun to watch them scurry up
and around when they are in play mode. We will certainly welcome
additional critters provided they are well behaved and play well with
others.

The rent:
Rent will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $715 a month for a
single, and negotiable for a couple. This amount includes DSL, all
utilities and everything else you see here. We don't have cable, but
you are welcome to have it put in if you wish. We don't have a
television either. Just that big-screen thing that was mentioned
earlier.
